LIFE
AMONG NEANDERTHALS
Up until
about 30,000 years ago, Homo Sapiens lived side by side among Neanderthals, so
closely that interbreeding was common. Some people even today have Neanderthal
DNA. No one knows for sure how Neanderthals disappeared, but one reason
scientists agree on is evolution.
Some
researchers have found that Neanderthals were cannibalistic. (Paleo diet) Can
you imagine the horror Homo Sapiens had watching Neanderthals eat?
It is very
difficult for Vegans to live among the “Neanderthals”. It is a horrifying
image, watching them slurp down their burgers and bacon, without any regard to
the lives they have just taken. The indifference to the suffering of others and
planet destruction are very hard to take.
Evolution
can take thousands of years and many generations to show up. Humans are still
evolving. Could veganism be part of evolution?
Think about
it. Man’s activities involving meat, dairy and egg consumption are destroying
our planet. 70% of our land is going to maintaining these industries. 91% of
rainforest destruction and 51%* of greenhouse gases is caused by animal
agriculture. Drought, dead zones, water pollution all mainly caused by animal
agriculture.
Researchers
have found that Vegans’ brains are different from omnivores. We are more empathic and altruistic than
omnivores. We look at all animals, humans and non-human, with empathy. Could
this change in our brains be Mother Earth trying to change humans to save
herself?
Vegans are
growing in number. Veganism is going mainstream. Currently about 7% of the US
population alone considers themselves Vegan. The number is even higher in other
countries.
The number
of Vegans is growing. Mother Earth is on our side. Hopefully, our numbers will
grow fast enough to save her.
*51% is
methane, co2, nitrous oxide emissions, plus emission from transporting,
processing and rain forest destruction.
